Culture Dynamics is a multidisciplinary umbrella project of strategic scope supported by the School of Architecture and Planning Dean’s Office at MIT. It fosters interdepartmental collaboration across MIT schools to explore the value and systemic impacts of arts, creativity, and culture. Positioned to blend research in the social, natural, and applied sciences, Culture Dynamics advances methodologies to study arts and culture across scales, from genetic underpinnings to societal systems.

Through interdisciplinary research and outreach, the project bridges MIT’s academic expertise with industry, government, and the public. Its mission is to translate insights into actionable strategies and real-world applications, addressing global challenges and shaping innovative solutions for a sustainable and equitable future.
